The piano is not in the best shape but it's possible to play on it. During the opening hours of the restaurant the staff probably won't allow you to play, but you can talk to the owner or receptionist if you can play during lunch break or after the restaurant is closed. Best chances are in the summer season.

The café and event location "Meersaal" owns a Grand Piano. It is not open to the public, but if you ask nicely the staff will make an exception for you:) Opening hours differ and in the winter season it's closed, but between May and September you will likely find it open from 10am to 6pm.

The Café Margarete has a tuned, well-cared-of and pretty shiny piano for the guests to play on. Opening hours differ and in the winter season the café is closed, but between May and September you have good chances to play a song or two:)

If you enter the store and walk straight forward to the outdoors section you should find it. It is a beautiful athmosphere with plants and water fountains next to it. Not for playing professionally though, it is out of tune and i am not sure wether all the keys are working.

Vom 9. bis 24. September 2023 läuft in Harburg das Projekt "play the piano!". Dabei werden acht Klaviere an verschiedenen zentralen Orten in Harburg aufgestellt, die von jedem, ob Profi oder Amateur, gespielt werden dürfen. Das Projekt wurde von Luke Jerrams "Play me i am yours" inspiriert, bei dem weltweit Klaviere im öffentlichen Raum platziert werden, um spontane, überraschende und bewegende musikalische Interaktionen zu fördern. Die Klaviere werden in der Harburger Innenstadt und im Binnenhafen zu finden sein, darunter im Marktkauf-Center, im Gloriatunnel (Kulturwohnzimmer), auf dem Harburger Rathausplatz, dem Museumsplatz, vor der Dreifaltigkeitskirche, auf dem Kanalplatz, dem Lotsestieg und dem Gelände der Technischen Universität Hamburg. Die genauen Standorte sind auf einer Piano-Map verzeichnet, die in Form von Blumensamentütchen gedruckt und in der Harburg Info (Hölertwiete 6) sowie an 50 weiteren Standorten in ganz Hamburg verteilt wird.
