Coolest piano ever! I was set up near by at North Springs Station. A man started playing the intro to “Desperado” and then looked at me to take over. Reaching into the far corners of my memory for the chords, I managed to start in the same key as him. He had a train to catch so we didn’t speak, but we had a full conversation through music and eye contact. Music connects strangers. Public music is good for a community. I almost walked by this again without stopping, but something told me to turn back around, finally admire it for a bit & take a couple of pics. When I did, a couple that had been on the train ride home with me were walking by & got just as excited to see why it was there. It’s a city initiative called Pianos for Peace & probably one of the coolest I’ve seen. The guy that was with his lady looked over at her & said, “let’s do this!” & started doing his thing. When he was done I couldn’t help but to give him some dap & let him know how dope that was for taking the lead. Mission accomplished, Pianos for Peace.
