I sent my three off to school today, and it was (obviously) extra hard this year. Besides dealing with the virus, I dropped my oldest off at HIGH SCHOOL. Why didn’t anyone tell me how hard it is to send them to high school (and please don’t talk about how fast the four years go). 😩 In happier news, this pretty space is going to be my new office (Steve kicked me out of the upstairs office 🤣 - see my previous post on that). I read an article on how the pandemic has changed what home buyers are looking for. Some home builders think open concepts will be a thing of the past (open spaces come with a lack of privacy which proves difficult working from home). Before we built these bookshelves, we talked about opening up these two spaces. However, we opted to build bookshelves since it was WAY cheaper than opening up this space (and I got my dream library👏). I took this photo just a few months ago, and it’s crazy how much has changed since then (swipe too see how it looks today). It’s now Steve’s office, and I’m very thankful he is currently employed and can work from home (but he’s so messy). I’m finding it harder and harder to not allow fear and anxiety overtake me, and I’m constantly reminding myself - �st all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 Hang in there guys - we can do this.💙.

In order to get this photo, the kids had to actually get out of their pjs, shower, and get dressed. Then it took about 30 minutes of cleaning up the room and bookshelves followed by some bribing for the kids to pose. There are so many amazing things to love about parenting, but then there’s the never ending laundry, taking 20 minutes to get out of the house (and unfortunately this doesn’t get better as they get older because you can’t physically pick them up and take them out anymore - instead yelling almost always happens🤦🏼♀️), AND the constant battle to get your kids to practice piano. Lena is the last pianist in the house, but we’re rooting for her because she has a real gift for music (but the struggle is real). I’m open to any tips or tricks! . ***My kids are on my stories giving a tour of our newest rental. Go check it out - you’ll especially love their British accents!.

I’m sharing details on this space in my stories. I stole the rug from our office for the space. It’s not perfect, but it works for now (and I really can’t be buying a new rug before Christmas). The sun came out today🙌🏼, so I cleaned up the house, grabbed the camera, and took some photos. I’ll share the full Christmas tour soon!.

Here’s one more shot of our library, and I promise to quit sharing it for a bit. This room is the first room you see when you walk into our home, and it’s been such a struggle for me. Swipe to see its progression over the past 6 years. Know that when you see Instagram feeds, most of the spaces didn’t happen overnight. It took me until this year to get rid of the carpet, and I obviously went in all kinds of directions design-wise before the space FINALLY came together. This poor space is probably scared anytime I walk into the room because I’ve switched it up so much this past year. 🤣 Take one last look because that wall treatment is gone (it was created for a really fun contest which I didn’t win, and I just never loved it). Doesn’t this appear to be the sweetest moment ever? I took this a few weeks ago, and in reality they were both annoyed with each other. Lena was done practicing and Steve was telling her she still had 15 minutes to go.🤣 . I found the old portraits at an antique shop, and Steve told me he feels weird hanging up people we don’t know. 🙄 Maybe if we give them names, they’ll feel more familiar to him - any suggestions?.
