From work in progress to work of art: visit the Sharon Forks Library to see (and play!) this lovely instrument painted by student volunteers in the National Art Honor Society at Lambert and South Forsyth high schools! The design was inspired by Claude Monet's WATER LILIES series and includes impressions of both flowers and fish. The piano is on display at the Sharon Forks Library as part of the 2019 @pianosforpeace festival happening all over metro Atlanta through September 22. The piano is one of 88 instruments on display across the metro area and will be featured in a concert performed by the Lambert Chamber Orchestra with special guest Alice Zhang, grand prize winner of the 2018 Malek Jandali International Youth Piano Competition, at the Sharon Forks Library on Tuesday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. Composer, pianist, and Pianos for Peace founder @malekjandali will speak about the organization and its mission during the event. After a month the pianos will be donated to title 1 schools and nursing homes!! The founder of #pianosforpeace @malekjandali will be playing on our painted piano along side Lambert's Orchestra at an event on Tuesday Sept 11th at 7pm at Sharon Forks Library!
