I will spam my instagram with @amandapalmer now. She finally came to Sweden and held an amazing show at Södra Teatern. But she also held a small charity show at Sjöhistoriska Museet. Both Södra Teatern and Sjöhistoriska (haha, I have a life long membership there) are close to my heart. She is the reason I dressed the way I did when I was 15 and back then it was so fucking hard to find striped stocknings, at least in Stockholm (this was before The Black Parade). I don’t know how to express my love for this woman. I listen to a lot of music. I adore a lot of music! But few impact me the way AFP did and still do. I love her. WHAT A RIDE!!! . .Amanda F. Palmer, Drawn live (be me!) in watercolours in the Sea History museum, Stockholm in aid of the brilliant and lovely @OpenPianoForRefugees - check them out for updates on where you can buy the drawings!!! (All watercolour drawings signed by Amanda, which includes the other 'open piano' players). . . It was quite an emotional 'ride' for me yesterday drawing and experiencing two different weighty and wonderful experiences of Amanda. (plus the 33km cycling between the museum, then home to scan the drawings, then back to Sra Teatern to give them to Open Piano then draw the 3 hour evening performance - phew!!! Crazy!!!) But yes, what an intense, beautiful, sad, funny, compassionate and entertaining rollercoaster of a day. I will carry these memories for quite some time. . . (It was also my first visit to this museum - need to come back. My Dutch grandad Bernard Soep (Dutch for Soup!) was the captain of a hospital ship during the second world war, and it's where he met my Granny who was the matron. I'm personally Scottish now living in Sweden, and currently making a book of 100 portraits with 'Thoughts on Immigration' - Kickstarter launching soon, and inspired by the fantastic 'Draw The Line Comic - Positive Political actions illustrated by 100 artists including one from me, and one by Dave McKean who also illustrated for Neil Gaiman!!!
