  I played over an hour at Westfield Stratford City @westfieldstratfordcity but I started it all with Dance Monkey by Tones And I @tonesandi. Was the first time I touched that Yamaha grand piano except for a quick scale up and down to check it was in tune.   This is one of my favourite Queen and Freddie Mercury songs - Love of My Life. Freddie wrote this for his fiance Mary Austin, it is so beautiful and romantic. I love the classical Beethoven style parts in the melody and how it flows so nicely.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Even though it's one of my favourites, I can't tell if it is a "crowd favourite" - I think Queen fans will definitely know it, but those that may have only just heard the big songs probably don't?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This is one of those songs that deserves to be played on a beautiful piano - and the Yamaha S6 grand that is at Westfield Stratford City is certainly one of them.   There are some songs, and melodies that are unmistakable - and when you hear it, it hits you and stops you in your tracks. @michaeljackson Michael Jackson's Billie Jean is one of those songs. The left hand lays down the base line and then the melody kicks in.   We Will Rock You by Queen is one of those songs that the audience and crowd gets involved. With the stomping and clapping in the stadium, We Will Rock You needs something different for the piano cover. So for this, I use the bass for the stomp and just clap for the, well, clap! The crowd here gets the idea - in fact, you can see the guy in the middle of the video realise what is going on and a small grin appears. ⁣ ⁣ Again though, for me, it's all about the children - and check out the mum who is sharing it with her little girl - and she gets it as well!   Continuing my @officialqueenmusic Queen set at Westfield Stratford City @westfieldstratfordcity with A Kind of Magic played on the Yamaha S6 grand piano. I like to play the first set of lyrics "It's A Kind of Magic, It's A Kind of Magic, A Kind of Magic..." simply with just the right hand before bringing in the left hand for "One Dream" - it creates a nice difference between the phrases.⁣ ⁣ This is actually about midway through the Queen set - and you can see some of the same crowd from other videos - the elderly lady sitting on the bench is one example.   Here's one that I have not played that often. @officialqueenmusic Queen Radio Ga Ga - it's a fun one, as have to come up with something for the beat - so clap! Did you know this song gave @ladygaga Lady Gaga her stage name?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Played on the gorgeous Yamaha S6 grand piano at @westfieldstratfordcity Westfield Stratford City that has such a wonderful tone.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Love playing here as there is constant new people, some stay, some pass - and love the escalator bringing people down and also up and away! Loads of people are facing the wrong direction when going up the escalator - as well as clapping at the end og the song.
