At the start of the school year the Fine Arts Director for our district told us he had a surplus of old pianos that had been replaced by newer models, and that he had the idea to have students paint them and then place them in public areas around our district so they could be seen and played. So for the past several months my National Art Honor Society students have been working on this piano. Since most of the students who worked on it were seniors, we debuted the piano at Friday night's senior art show reception at our Curriculum and Instruction building. The kids didn't have time to paint the bench or sheet music stand, so I painted those but the piano is the work of the kids. I love projects like this and am super proud of the work the kids created.
