One of my first tastes of public art, participating in #playmeimyours 5 years ago presented me with a whole new way to create and share my work. I loved that it was only for a brief moment in time, and a platform for others to also make art. From an impromptu midnight Willy Nelson singalong, to walking by and hearing strangers jamming out on a butterfly piano in the middle of a South End park, to an event that brought so many special people in my life out to support and celebrate- this piano is an anchor of wonderful memories. The video is the incomparable @brian_piccini accompanying the oh so talented opera star @farahdarliette in #somewhereovertherainbow , to this day my favorite version of the song I’ve ever heard. I shed a single tear of pride and joy every time the sun breaks through the clouds at 3:16. #bostonart #publicart #makeart #makemusic #whimsy #butterfly #bestfriends #takesavillage #bostonartist #queerartist #createbeautywhereveryougo @izzyberdan @mikepanorama @brittbo44 @johnlgould @misswillis8 @kantonio10 @thomas315 @groosetastic @mazonboston @tomgerace @josepicante @pmariekee @helenpan333 @jglege @kyletilds @devonwinslow @pobaw81 @pariaface @esinclair93 @seansaywhat.
