@pianopushplay gave @adxportland the opportunity to be a part of this Portland tradition. I was able to bring together an amazing team of makers and we had some great support from the community. We were able to get some extra funding from Tonkon Torp. They do a lot of positive social action work in Portland and stepped up in an awesome way to sponsor us. It was a joy to work with these positive and talented humans. I am so happy with what we created… an it feels surreal that it started with sheets of plywood and cans of paint. When Megan said it would be in Pioneer Courthouse Square I was ecstatic… and it feels like it fits the space perfectly. The next steps—We will put the finishing touches on it tomorrow morning at 6am… piano pickup is at 9:30am so it is crunch time. It will be great to see it fully completed and assembled at it’s home for the summer. Great work from @shepindesign on these letters—truly amazing work. I stained them with a pink glitter gel stain (could not be more perfect)… then painted on the drop shadow with golden airbrush shading grey… a great trick for acrylic painters. Beautiful work by @knuthang , @jajawoods , @total_nonsequitur and everyone that assisted.
