Loving these photos of Jeremy Banning @playsmoothpiano performing on my “Star Child 113” piano, a part of @singforhope’s Pop-Up Pianos project a few years back. The piano was available for all to play and enjoy while it was installed at Brooklyn Bridge Park and later at Lincoln Center. My piano was based on a very small, similar painting that came to me in a vision, after my son Luke passed away. Creating these and many other paintings has been an incredible part of my healing journey and has allowed me to spend more time with Luke. Knowing so many people were moved by this piano celebrating my son’s journey warms my heart. Whether experiencing it in person or seeing the images that traveled virally across the globe, I’m blown away by how far my Star Child has traveled and how many people he has reached. These beautiful photos were captured by Jessica Stack @dance_bold in 2015.
