Top tip... . I've been painting (ALOT) this week- items that my clients love, or at least like, but that no longer fit with their home. It's more cost effective and certainly more environmentally friendly to paint what you have rather than buy new- especially if the piece in question still fits perfectly in every other way. I'm not advocating painting beautiful antique wooden pieces but damaged, dated or ugly items can be transformed with a lick of paint in the right shade! . At a colour consultation with a new client this morning a lampshade came up in conversation- perfect shape and size for the lamp it was on but the wrong colour in a drab neutral- The client was delighted with the news that this could be painted to tie in with the new scheme and had no idea you could paint it! You can paint entire sofa's if you're so inclined (and have the time!) I also advised on painting existing kitchen cupboards- an amazing way to get your kitchen updated for £'s instead of £££'s! If uou're not up to taking on a kitchen then picture frames, plant pots and the trusty lamp shades are all great first projects to take on..
