Piano inside the Meow Wolf Grapevine exhibit, decently in tune but some keys are starting to fail.

This is in one of the greenhouses with plants- you can ask the workers to find it. It is a very pretty upright piano

Services are on Thursday 5:30pm and Sunday 9 and 10:30 AM. You can visit in between then during the office hours of 8am to 4pm and ask the front office desk to use it, which they allow anyone to do when available. It's a Baldwin Grand Prix and reasonably in tune.

As of this writing, house is open to the public 1-4pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays (but check the City of Mountain View website). I asked the volunteer if I could play on the upright and it's 100% fine.

In the middle of the main atrium there is a black baby grand. Ask the restaurant bar tender there to play!

Located in the chapel next to the office which is empty most days and available for use when asked. Piano is a 1980s Baldwin Spinet, reasonably in tune though hammers on the lower notes are in need of revoicing.

It’s a bit out of tune, and the hammer has been broken off one of the keys. But it sounds great for playing boogie woogie!

Budget Motel run by Germans but clean and friendly. I did not mind staying here. The detuned crappy upright piano is in the lobby. He requested Mozart but did not care how long I played. I think if you bring some beer you can get a sing a long going.

Piano Thrift Store. LOTS OF PIANOS. They are tuned and the clerk lets you play whatever you want as long as you want, even the "do not touch" pianos.

An old brown Steinway, maybe 6'. Somewhat out of tune. In the lobby. Free to play, apparently. There are wipes: clean it when finished. It's not technically a public area so they may boot you if you're not there for a reason. It's in a lobby that's often staffed, so it would not be polite to practice scales there. I've never seen anyone but myself play it.

Gorgeous Young and Chang baby grand in A+ condition in the window. You’ll be invited to play if you want. Great coffee too and ice cream. Really beautiful cafe, bright, immaculately clean. Lots of people around (which made me nervous) working, relaxing, and chatting. It’s the perfect environment for your impromptu performance. Can’t wait to give it another shot.

In the Hilton Lake Buena Vista, Disney Springs. A very nice Yamaha grand in good condition, tucked in a hallway at the end of the meeting center. I picked appropriate times to play and was given free rein.

The studio is designed to be somewhat interactive (they also have an indoor swing) and there's a sign on the piano (a Steinway baby grand, iirc) that says something like "play if you know what you're doing, if you don't then don't". When I was there they had other music playing, but the person working there noticed when I started playing and turned it off.

There were two uprights with several broken keys and out of tune. The piano was still playable, although it kind of hurts to play it. I last saw it a month and a half ago.

A grand piano outside a wine shop. No need to ask to play it, you can just sit down. Gets good traffic. A little worn down but playable. 7/10 would play again.

There are 6 individual pianos/practice rooms and 1 ensemble room that can be used for 1 hour (or longer if no one needs the space). Library card OR ID needed to use the space.

Ask the front desk before attempting to play. They are very considerate and allow anyone to play. This is what seems to be an upright piano player piano. The piano doesn’t seem to have a working sustain pedal at the time I am posting this.

Lobby Hours are Mon-Fri 9AM-6PM. Piano still available after hours (which provides more privacy if desired) but lobby entrance is closed - can enter through emergency room or other entrances.

It's a small airport. Almost the entirety of the building is before the TSA checkpoint where it is located, so it's technically a public piano.

The second of the two pianos located in the Kerr Drummond Mezzanine, this is a Steinway Model S Baby Grande piano. This piano, serial number 127586, was built in 1907 and as of 2022 is 115 years old. This piano was once played by Sir Elton John on November 1, 1973. This piano is horribly out of tune, earning itself the nickname "The Devil Piano".

Steinway Model D Concert Grande built in 1905, twenty and a half ivory keys still remaining. Serial number 118192, as of 2022 it is 117 years old.

Played on this piano 3 times and it recently seems to have had a tune up. They have it out only during the day, but sometimes it's not there during the day. It's orange and has flowers painted on it. The middle keys are pretty bad and it's hard to do legato, and overall it sounds like a toy piano, very sharp, but it's really nice and can be appreciated. There's no bench now, but they have it on a rolling stand and the elbows line up pretty well with the keys for people of average height. There's a lot of traffic in the area, so people may come up to you to watch or ask you questions. I'd also be cautious about dangerous strangers in the area, but they do have security guards patrolling the area. The security guards are occasionally gone, however, so I wouldn't focus too much on playing, more on surroundings.

They require you to sign in to use it, just to keep track of who's played it and to prevent hogging.

It is a grand piano found in the entrance to the Neuroscience building. Parking in the attached garage is free for the first 30 minutes. The piano was donated by a neurologist that works in the building.

Piano is from the 19th century and sounds good, but unfortunately it's kept outside and looks to be rapidly deteriorating. Some keys are stuck or have broken off. Still cool! I hope it's preserved

Previously played this piano for nearly two years until Covid. Learned the piano was re-opened earlier this year. Yamaha, keys work perfectly, infamous for being the red-haired girl who always played.
